Mt. Olympus Resort in Wisconsin Dells is hiring Hotel Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Actual shifts may vary depending on hotel occupancy and operational needs.
Must be at least 18 years old. A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Starting Pay Rate: $17.00/hour


Job Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall condition of our hotel properties through daily repairs, preventative maintenance, and special projects. This position works closely with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments to respond to maintenance requests and ensure a positive guest experience.

1st Shift Hotel Maintenance – Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete daily maintenance work orders promptly.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, employee housing, and hotel facilities.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls and requests from Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments.
• Repair doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, and appliances.
• Replace light bulbs, air filters, smoke detector batteries, and other routine items.
• Patch, paint, and repair drywall and other interior surfaces.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed.
• Take on maintenance projects and property improvement tasks, especially during the slower season.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.

Hotel Maintenance Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and their proper use.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to complete repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
• A valid U.S. driver's license is required.

Maintenance experience is a PLUS, but NOT required! We are willing to train someone who has basic tool knowledge, a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate is comfortable using basic tools, follows instructions, takes ownership of assigned projects, and is not afraid to learn new skills. Must be a team player who can adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments.
 

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced hotel environment where maintenance requests from Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other departments may come in throughout the day. Employees should expect to spend most of their shift standing, walking, and performing hands-on maintenance tasks. During slower seasons, the focus will shift toward preventative maintenance, property improvements, and larger maintenance projects.
